FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
UTOPIA FOOD AND FITNESS TO OPEN FIRST OF SEVERAL LOCATIONS
February 13, 2013
A new healthy weight loss concept, Utopia Food & Fitness, will open in mid March in the Lakeside Market development at Preston Road and Spring Creek in Plano. The boutique concept, with architectural design by Dallas-based Staffelbach, includes a contemporary fitness environment with top-of-the-line Nautilus circuit equipment and an on-site café. The café features freshly prepared food for dine-in or “gourmet-to-go” for both members and non-members. For members, meals are customized by Utopia for each person, which scientifically sets calorie intake levels unique to each person’s body and weight-loss goals.
Multi four-star rated Chef Mike Smith, of The Common Table and Thomas Avenue Beverage Company (TABC) fame, is a co-owner of the fitness solution and is behind menu development, focusing on creating delicious food using fresh, seasonal ingredients. His exposure to a variety of international cuisines coupled with his Southern roots provides him with an expansive culinary repertoire that has earned the respect and praise of critics.
At Utopia, each training session is by appointment, ensuring immediate access to equipment and no rush-hour crowds On-site personal trainers ensure members questions are answered, and oversee each workout. Utopia utilizes circuit training methods to maximize results in minimal time; workouts are scheduled for 20 minutes, twice per week. Utopia relies on proven research to ensure each 20 minute routine is as effective as possible.
“Unlike diet-only programs that can consume your muscle, sap your energy and lower your metabolism, Utopia helps you balance calories in versus calories out for lasting, attractive results,” Utopia founder Kirk Wilder explains. Utopia’s founders have a combined 60 years of experience, working to combine both food and fitness for decades. Wilder is responsible for creating several national diet and exercise programs and has previously owned many several Dallas-area fitness centers.
“Your instincts tell you that you need to eat better and exercise to have truly healthy and lasting weight loss, that’s why we offer both” Wilder continues. “In six weeks, the average female can expect to lose two sizes, and the average male can expect to lose 3-5″ off their waist.”
Utopia’s Pre-Sales and Information Center is currently open in the same Lakeside Market shopping center at Preston and Spring Creek Pkwy in Plano, to the right of Weir’s (next to the Cat & The Fiddle), and is offering special charter membership offers before opening, including a $110 savings.
